Vegan Korean BBQ Sandwich

Sometimes you just want a sandwich for lunch! Since we recently quit eating meat we tried out something new by incorporating marinated pan-fried tofu. We get an amazing Korean BBQ sauce, sprouted grain bread, and organic tofu from Trader Joe's. The rest of our ingredients came from the local produce market. When being a sandwich artist, it is always fun to get creative. Use whatever produce you have available locally or already in the kitchen! There isn't always a long back story to our recipes, sometimes it is a simple as we just used whatever we had lying around the kitchen to make something beautiful and delicious.


Vegan Korean BBQ Sandwich


  • 1 Cup Korean BBQ Sauce
  • 16 oz Extra-Firm Organic Tofu
  • 2 Cups Arugala
  • 1 Avocado, sliced
  • Sprouted Grain Toast
  • Sliced Tomato
  • Cultured Guru Fermented Kimchi
  • Chopped Red Onioin



  1. Drain tofu and let it dry out on a paper towel for about 10 minutes. Slice tofu length wise, and place in a pan
  2. Pour korean BBQ sasuce over the tofu and let is marinate in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes
  3. Add a bit of olive oil to a skillet and heat on medium
  4. Once the oil is hot place the tofu in the skillet and pan fry it until lightly crisp.
  5. Construct your sandwich by placing the avocado, kimchi, arugala, onion and tomato on one piece of bread  
  6. Once the tofu is fried to your liking, place it on the other pice of bread
  7. Place the two pieces of bread and ingridients together, and you've got yourself a vegan Korean BBQ sandwich full of flavor and nutrition!
