How to Bake the Perfect Sweet Potato
I love a good sweet potato. They’re so versatile. You can incorporate sweet potatoes into savory or sweet dishes for a prebiotic fiber boost… since they’re loaded with fiber, vitamins and nutrients they’re a super gut healthy food!
Baking sweet potatoes isn’t hard at all, and no you don’t need to wrap the potatoes and waste a bunch of tin foil to bake them either.
Preheat your oven to 375
Wash your potatoes
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Place potatoes on the parchment paper
Using a Knife Poke about 7 holes in the potatoes
Bake for 30 minutes, then flip the potatoes and bake for another 30 minutes
To test and see if they’re done, poke a fork into the potato and try to lift it. If the potato feels soft and slides right off the fork, it’s done.
I like to bake a bunch of potatoes at one time and eat them throughout the week.
Breakfast Sweet Potatoes three ways
When I eat sweet potatoes for breakfast, I prefer them more on the sweet side! That means loading them up with nut butters for protein and healthy fats, fruit for more vitamins and fiber, and usually some homemade vegan yogurt for a probiotic boost!

Stuffed Sweet Potato Recipe
I use a basic recipe formula to make any stuffed sweet potato. Here it is:
Easy Loaded Sweet Potatoes
- 1 Medium Baked Sweet Potato
- 2 Tablespoons Nut Butter
- 1/4 cup Berries
- 1/2 Banana Sliced
- 1 teaspoon Chia Seeds
- 1 Teaspoon Hemp Seeds
- 1 Tablespoon Vegan Yogurt
- Using the directions at the beginning of this blog, bake your potato.
- Slice potato in half long ways and allow to cool slightly.
- Add in your nut butter of choice, fruit and other toppings.
- Top with a drizzle of plant based yogurt and enjoy!
