Our fermentation kits are such a fun way to get started fermenting! Our kits are especially useful for people fermenting at home for the first time. Our fermentation kits are only available seasonally online, and at our free library fermentation classes.
For the kits, we weighed the salt and did all the math to make the bacteria happiest for you... But how do you reuse your kit? Obviously you don't have a bunch of pre-weighed salt bags or spice bags laying around. So you have two options:
Use the kit guide recipe again. I know your kit only came with one pre-weighed salt packet and one spice packet. So what should you do after you've used it and want to make another batch? Easy → Using the kit guide recipe, sub 10 grams of salt and 2 teaspoons of spices in place of the packets.
Weigh out 10 grams of salt, then follow the kit guide exactly using the 10 grams of salt as "the salt packet"
Always use unrefined sea salt or Cultured Guru Fermentation Salt
Get creative with the spices. If you like more, add more!!
